I grew up on a family farm in Floyd County, VA. My role models, my grandparents, raise Registered Angus cattle
and my mother and I raise a few club lambs. Farming has always been, and always will be a part of my life that I am
proud of.
I began shearing my own sheep in 4-H for fairs and livestock
shows in 1995. As time went on I found that I loved the sport of it (yes, sheep shearing has been proven to be a sport,
the equivalent of running 2-3 marathons in one 8 hour shift) and decided to go out and shear for my community. In 2006
I put up the shearing stand and learned the New Zealand method of sheep shearing and in January 2007 went to a Professional
Sheep Shearing School in Colorado.
I am now attending Virginia Western Community College
in Roanoke, VA and preparing for Virginia Tech in the Fall of 2008.
I love getting out
and learning new things and believe every tomorrow is a beautiful day to look forward to! God has blessed me with MANY
things including a purdy sturdy back and I look forward to putting it to good use for YOU!
